The Bible, as originally given by God, is divinely inspired, (from the heart and mind of God through the Holy Spirit to the hearts and minds of the authors) infallible, (unable to be wrong, without mistakes, accurate) entirely trustworthy (saying what it means, consistent, reliable) and the supreme authority (the reference, the guidebook) in all matters of faith (what we believe) and practice (what we do). 2 Timothy 3:16 – All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness.
There is one God, eternally existent in three persons – Father (the maker of heaven and earth. Before everything was, He was), Son (God sent to earth, co-equal with the Father, man’s only hope) and Holy Spirit (equal with the Father and the Son, on earth to make men aware of their need for Jesus, and to guide Christians in their daily life). Psalm 29:10 – The Lord sat as King at the flood; Yes, the Lord sits as King forever.
Jesus Christ was fully God, yet fully man, born of a virgin, and lived a sinless life, performing many miracles. We acknowledge His substitutionary death, resurrection, ascension and individual mediation for us, and eagerly await His personal return in power and glory. Colossians 2:9 – For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form …
Man is sinful and separated from God, and a reunion, called salvation, is possible only by faith in Jesus Christ, apart from works, through the regeneration of the Holy Spirit. Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
The Holy Spirit indwells the believer and enables us to live a holy life and to witness and work for the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 8:9 – However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.
All true believers are united by the Holy Spirit as the church, the Body of Christ. Romans 12:5 – We, who are many, are one body in Christ.
Everyone will be resurrected – the saved to everlasting life, the unsaved to everlasting torment. Matthew 25:46 – These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.
