Thanks for stopping by to learn more about starting a chapter in Canada. Toronto Christian Runners was started on a cold Toronto February day in 2007. What could be more Canadian than starting your inaugural run in the cold winter! Laura Branson, a dedicated and talented runner felt that it would be a great idea to run with some other people from church. She sought out a few other individuals to run one Saturday morning and the group was born. She found Christianrunners.org and partnered up with them to become the official Canadian contact.
Soon after this first run, word of mouth spread througout the
church community and through other's about this group. Many people
have passed through and run (and walked) with the group. We have all
been blessed by each individual's life and their contribution to the
Body of Christ. What is more spectacular is the number of people who do not profess a faith in Christ, but love running with us anyway. We hold nothing back, we pray before we run, and we feel that this is a great witnessing opportunity in a common setting.
If you have a desire to run with other Christians and get fit and have a lot of fun together, then we recommend starting a group and getting out there. Christianrunners.org can help be a conduit in presenting your group to your city or neighbourhood.
